A professional image is a requirement for successful participation in school. Future Professionals must maintain the following professional dress code:
- Clothing must be professional, clean, and free of stains.
- Hair should be clean and styled, and any cosmetics should be applied prior to arriving at the school campus.
- Name tags must be worn while in attendance. Replacement name tags are $15.
- Accessories such as hats, scarves, beanies, and head wraps are allowed if black.
- Shoes may be any color.
- Practice proper hygiene habits to stay within a professional image.
Cosmetology:
- Core, Protege, and Phase One students must wear all black attire.
- Phase Two and instructor program students may wear black and white in any combination including prints and patterns.
- Jeans and clothing made of jean material are acceptable, as long as they follow the color guidelines. Any rips/tears/distressing should be at the knee or below.
- Skirts and dresses that are not higher than 4 inches above the knee unless opaque tights or leggings are worn.
- If worn, smocks and aprons may not contain any other beauty industry-related branding/logos.
Esthetics:
- Must wear solid black scrubs.
- Undershirts and jackets must be black.
The following is a list of unacceptable dress for all Future Professionals in attendance:
- Rubber flip flops and beach sandals
- House shoes/slippers
- Sunglasses
- Headphones/Airpods (at your Educator’s discretion)
- Pajamas, sleepwear, and sweatpants
- Blankets
- Spandex biking shorts and/or leggings. (If leggings are worn, they must be worn with a top that is at least fingertip length to fully cover the front and back of the individual).
- Spaghetti strap, sleeveless or strapless tops/dresses.
- Crop tops (tops must cover the midriff/belly when the arms are resting at sides).
Future Professionals who fail to comply with the Future Professional dress code may be coached, asked to change their attire, and/or may receive an advisory.
